This weekend we are marking the 100th anniversary of WWI and we’re delighted to invite you to our celebrations.
On 2nd and 3rd August, the Irish Military War Museum will host a range of activities for all the family.
Across Saturday and Sunday, there will also be re-enactments to bring history to life. The “Trench Life, Hands On” re-enactments will give a detailed view into what daily life was like in the trenches. Discover how German, British and French soldiers coped during gas attacks and see how trenches developed over the years.
Additionally, if you’re interested in hands on history, there will be the opportunity to talk to the Military History Club about getting involved yourself.
Also this weekend, there will be dress-up and photo opportunities and perhaps even the chance to go for a spin in a half-track (subject to availability and weather conditions).
What’s more, we’re open on Monday 4th August, so you can enjoy the whole Bank Holiday weekend with the Irish Military War Museum!
Admission is €25 for a family of four, €8 for adults and €5 for kids, so come along and watch history come to life.
