How to get to the Irish Military War Museum

The Irish Military War Museum is opening its doors this coming Friday (6th June). To help you to find us, we’ve put together some directions for your drive to the museum.

We are on Google Maps, so to easily find us from your location just enter “Irish Military War Museum” into the destination box on Google Maps. Or if you have the ability to do so in your Satellite Navigation, enter the following co-ordinates: N 53° 45′ 50″, W 06° 28′ 11″

Taking the M1 North

From Dublin, follow the M1 towards Louth and take Exit 10. Then follow the R168 to Collon (which will be the second exit on the roundabout). Turn left at the Drumgooles Cross and follow the road until you see the museum on your Right.

Taking the N2 North

Follow the N2 towards Collon and take a right turn at the turning for Starinagh (at Geraghty Concrete)  just before you get to Collon. Follow the road until you come to the museum on your left.

Taking the M1 South

Follow the M1 and take the R132 exit (for Monasterboice). Merge onto the R132 and take the right onto New Line (for Collon). Continue onto the Drogheda Road and then take a right to follow the R168 at Nursery Cross. Turn left at the Drumgooles Cross and follow the road until you see the museum on your right.

Taking the N2 South Follow the N2 thorough Ardee and Collon (depending of course where you are coming from). Turn left into the road signed for Starinagh (at Geraghty Concrete). Follow the road until you come to the museum on your left.
