Do you have what it takes to beat our obstacle course?

Hot on the heels of our new extension, we have another exciting development here at the museum. Knowing how much fun the children have on the bouncy castles at our regular Family Fun Days, we have invested in an inflatable obstacle course of our very own! Comprised of four sections, you can sit back and enjoy a coffee as the kids climb, slide, dodge and scramble their way through the course.

The obstacle course will be open every Saturday and Sunday until Halloween. Open from 12-5pm, it costs just €5 per child for a whole afternoon’s entertainment.

Celebrate our next step with military vehicles and re-enactments

The IMWM is getting even bigger!

Anyone who has visited us before will know we have masses of militaria on show, but might not realise we had even more behind the scenes with no space to show it. With the opening of our new 9,000-sq-ft extension, we will soon be able to display even more fascinating artefacts and memorabilia from world conflicts.

The extension is opening soon, and we want you to join us to celebrate! Over the weekend of Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 May the Irish Military War Museum has a packed programme of events to entertain young and old. There will be a Military Vehicle Show, where enthusiastic collectors will be on hand to explain the history of their machines, plus re-enactments of military battles to really bring history to life. Battles begins at 4pm each day. There will also be a collection of stalls for you to browse and buy from, selling a variety of wares.

So whether you’ve visited before, or if you’ve been meaning to drop in, this would be a perfect time to call. The events take place on 13 & 14 May from 10am to 5pm. Usual entry prices apply – €10 per adult or €25 for a family of four. You can buy admission tickets here.

Join us for a fun-filled Easter weekend

It’s shaping up to be an action-packed weekend here at the Irish Military War Museum.

On both Saturday and Sunday we are having a family fun day, where the kids can fly high on our bouncy castles, find a sweet treat with our Easter egg hunt (from 12pm), then burn off the energy taking part in an obstacle course. It costs just €5 per child (aged up to 15 years).

In addition, we are open as normal on Good Friday, plus we will be opening this Easter Monday. We are passionate about sharing our collection and believe it’s only by handling genuine artifacts from conflicts you can really get a sense of life in the front line.

So if you’ve never visited before, or have been meaning to make a repeat visit, this would be a very special time to call. We are open all weekend from 10am-5pm.

Please note: Easter Egg hunts are from 12pm on both days.
